The Drug Enforcement Administration, Office of Finance, is seeking qualified candidates to participate in its Accounting Career Intern Program. Selected individuals will be given the opportunity to expand their knowledge and capabilities in the government accounting field. Career interns will gain knowledge of appropriations law, federal accounting concepts and principles, accounting procedures of federal agencies, and will be given the opportunity to participate in the DEA migration and implementation of the Department of Justice Unified Financial Management System. QUALIFICATIONS: The Office of Finance is seeking candidates who are currently working toward their accounting degree, have already received a degree in accounting, or received a degree in a related field supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The appointment of a career intern expires at the end of the 2-year internship period. Upon successful completion of the internship period, the employee will be non-competitively converted to competitive civil service status.
