Product and Market Development Intern:  Seattle,WA
Job Description/ Requirements:To assist with the product development and market research for handbags and sandals made from natural rubber latex in one of the Amazon communities where we work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The project’s goal would be to: *Develop a market plan including pricing, distribution options, features, segmentation and more; *Contact potential retailers to learn their demands, as well as secure orders; *Maintain listing on our online retail site; and *Help fulfull orders *KSAs (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Needed: *Strong experience with the product marketing and business management; *Strong communication skills; *Knowledge of market research tools; *Ability to work independently; *Analytical skills; *Self-directed and self-motivated; *Detail-oriented and flexible; and *Familiarity and interest in women’s handbags and sandals Logistics and Compensation: Start and end dates are flexible. Since this is a volunteer position no compensation will be given but will cover approved expenses. This is a virtual opportunity which gives you flexibility to work from your home or in field. This is a virtual team opportunity which you may perform from your home or other location. Community Empowerment Network's (CEN’s) operations are nearly entirely driven by the efforts of a community of volunteers. We are staffed along the lines of the Open Source development community. We have several (currently eight) Working Groups, each with its own lead who manages a number of Project Leads. These Project Leads are responsible for building and managing teams of volunteers to execute specific projects. We’re a small organization and so lines of responsibility become a little blurred at time, but this provides a terrific opportunity to take on a variety of responsibilities and to expand your skills.
