| Job Description/ Requirements: | Boutique firm seeks accounting interns. Position responsible for assisting in reviewing, evaluating, and making recommendations for the correction and/or improvement of internal, operational, and management control systems and organizational unit performance. Position reports to a managing auditor. The nature of this position requires inside contact with company employees at all levels as well as contact with outside client representatives, vendors, and other business-related representatives. Essential Functions: Assist in planning work on assigned segments of an audit. Assist in determining records or activities to analyze, the extent to tests to apply, and the working papers to prepare. Assist with the means of obtaining, analyzing, and evaluating evidentiary data. Review transactions, documents, records, reports, and methods for accuracy and effectiveness. Prepare acceptable working papers that record and summarize data on the assigned audit segment. Participate in discussions of apparent deficiencies with operating personnel to verify and obtain explanations of and reasons for each apparent deficiency and document responses. Be well organized and pay close attention to details. Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality. Reporting to this position: No direct reports. Additional Responsibilities: Assist in the performance of special reviews at the request of management. Performs other duties as may be assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong analytical skills and an attention to detail. Ability to perform work with little or no supervision. Familiarity with standard auditing practices and procedures and the ability to apply them to each project assigned. Good interpersonal skills including the ability to interview individuals associated with the subject of an audit. Ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects. Knowledgeable in the use of computers to document and record audit findings. |
