Fundraising Intern:  Seattle,WA
Job Description/ Requirements:This position provides support to CEN’s resource development goals and in particular, helps generate exposure for CEN in the Greater Seattle community and beyond. CEN desires an intern who is resourceful, creative, enthusiastic and self-directed. The intern will work independently but will meet regularly with the Director for planning and collaboration. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: *Assist Director in organizing community fundraising events. *Promote CEN among through one outreach event. *Identify and secure speaking opportunities for Director within the local business and community service sector (co-present, as desired). *Provide assistance to Director in creating volunteer fundraising materials and tools. *Assist with upgrade of donor database. *Provide miscellaneous clerical support under the guidance of Director. *Other duties, depending on intern’s skills and experience. KSAs (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Needed: *Commitment to CEN’s mission and strong interest in international development issues *Experience working or traveling in the developing world *Experience coordinating events and generating community involvement. *Strong interpersonal skills; must be a team player. *Detail-oriented and flexible. *Self-directed and self-motivated; ability to work with little supervision and from home. *Strong organizational, office and computer skills. Logistics and Compensation: Start and end dates are flexible. Since this is a volunteer position no compensation will be given but will cover approved expenses. This is a virtual team opportunity which you may perform from your home or other location. Community Empowerment Network's (CEN’s) operations are nearly entirely driven by the efforts of a community of volunteers. We are staffed along the lines of the Open Source development community. We have several (currently eight) Working Groups, each with its own lead who manages a number of Project Leads.
