The process for getting into graduate
school can begin as early as spring quarter of the junior year, particularly
for students anticipating starting graduate studies fall quarter following
their senior year. Many steps are essential to a successful application
strategy. They include:
targeting
a list of schools offering programs in your area of interest
taking
entrance exams in a timely fashion
obtaining quality letters of recommendation
completing application forms
writing
a personal statement
interviewing
with admission committees (in some, but not all, programs)
Meeting deadlines for these as well as scholarships, fellowships and
assistantships will aid in giving you the best range of options to consider.
